
Dr. Philip Young

Dr. Young was born and raised in Seattle, Washington and attended Federal Way High School. He then went on to study at the University of Washington were he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology graduating Cum Laude. During his undergraduate years he received an NIH grant to study the cellular biology of the single cell algae acetabulariu acetabulum. From there he went on to study medicine at Tulane University's Medical School were he graduated near the top of his class. During medical school, he received numerous honors including the McGraw Hill Award given to the top two students for the first year. He ultimately graduated with the highest honors being elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. After medical school, Dr Young then went on to train in the specialty of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Southern California. There he worked with prominent plastic surgeons from Beverly Hills during his 5 years of training. His interest in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery prompted him to continue his training with world renowned facial plastic surgeon, Dr Frederick Stucker in Shreveport, Louisiana. There he honed additional skills in the art, learning about cosmetic procedures as well as skills required to care for people born with congenital defects including cleft lip and palate. He also had exposure to other craniofacial procedures such as orthognathic surgery. He is board certified in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and is finalizing his board certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. During the nationwide exam for the Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Boards, Dr. Young scored the top score on the written exam.
During his free time, Dr. Young enjoys fishing, wine tasting, hiking, camping and bicycling. He has an interest in one day starting an orchid garden. |
