More on Hair Transplantation of Seattle Bellevue:

Hair Transplantation is done by taking hair from some other part of your body and implanting it in the area that is desired. The most commmon way of hair transplantation is through removing a strip of hair in the back of the scalp and using this to thicken the front of the hair. The strip is broken up into slivers which are then broken down into follicular units. These units are the natural grouping of single hairs called the foliicular unit which can range from 1-5 hairs most commonly. These are the natural unit and way that hairs grow. Each one of these units are then inserted into different areas of your scalp to thicken and reconstruct your hair.

Question 1: How long does it take for hair to grow?

Answer 1: It takes anywhere from 3 to 6 months to grow. You will not want to do another grafting for another 6 months to year. This is in order to know what areas have hair and what areas don't to really know exactly where to graft and not. Below is a pictorial of a hair grafting session:

Below are the pictures before hair transplantation showing the areas that we were going to graft hair:

A week later you can see the areas that we have placed the grafts and the crusting redness present. Over the next 1-2 months these hairs may fall out but don't be worried. This is normal and it will take 3-6 months for the hairs to grow back:

Two Weeks later, the areas have improved in that there are no crusts nor significant redness. The hairs are present but they may start to fall out. Again, this is normal.

Four months later, you can see the hair has started to thicken up and you now are seeing more robust hair growth and the area is thickened and hiding the scalp much better:
