1. Understanding of Facial Beauty

Dr. Young had noticed many results seen on Hollywood stars were less than optimal, and that there was plenty of room for improvement. Dr. Young spent several years studying the impact of beauty, culminating in his exciting theory on facial beauty called the Circles of Prominence, for which he received the Sir Harold Delf Gillies Award from his peers at the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

2. Academic Excellence

Dr. Young has 16 years of education and continues to expand his knowledge, including learning the latest techniques and the most up-to-date information.

He has trained and studied at the University of Washington, the University of Southern California, Tulane University, and Louisiana State University. Dr. Young has published several peer-reviewed articles and chapters in major textbooks on facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

He received the McGraw-Hill Award in medical school for being in the top 2 of the entire medical school class of his year and received Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society Honors for being in the top 10% of his class. He consistently scored 90% or above on his head and neck surgery exams. Dr. Young has trained with some of the world's best surgeons, including Dr. Nassif (from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”), Mark Berman (former president of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery), Francis Palmer (surgeon for the stars), Stephen Pincus, Peter Cheski, Rod Rohrich (former president of the American Academy of Plastic Surgeons) and Sam Hamra (founder of the modern facelift). He also visited Vietnam with Dr. Kamer on a medical mission trip in 2006.

3. Dr. Young Is Double-Board Certified

Board certification is a rigorous process that physicians undergo to ensure that they meet the qualifications and standards of competency and safely and successfully practice their specialty. Dr. Young is double board-certified by two separate institutions: the American Board of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (He is fellowship-trained by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery) and the American Board of Laser Surgery.

4. Dr. Young Devotes His Time to Humanitarian Efforts Locally and Internationally

He donates his time to help victims of trauma/domestic violence and those born with congenital anomalies (such as cleft lip and palate) with the Face to Face organization, the humanitarian arm of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Through this group, he has been to Vietnam (2006, 2013) and China (2010). He was featured in several local newspapers (Bellevue Reporter, Northwest Asian Weekly, and UW Daily) for his humanitarian work with a local domestic violence victim.

Dr. Young’s reconstructive experience include four years in a level 1 trauma center at Charity Hospital in New Orleans (during medical school), five years in a level 1 trauma center in Los Angeles County Hospital with the University of Southern California, a year in a level 2 trauma center at Santa Rosa Medical Center, and his fellowship training with Dr. Frederick Stucker in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Louisiana State University.

Staff includes a registered nurse with extensive experience in cardiac (heart) care and certified in advanced cardiac life support. Dr. Young ensures that his staff is extensively trained in AAAHC certification. He has a nationally recognized AAAHC consultant team to ensure excellence. Dr. Young and his staff have a commitment to provide the best care for their patients. They meet every week seeking continuing improvement and provide the best experience to patients.

6. Dr. Young Is Fellowship-Trained by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

During his residency at the University of Southern California, Dr. Young did an extra year of training under Dr. Frederick Stucker at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. Dr. Stucker is one of the grandmasters in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and one of the founders of the Face to Face humanitarian program. Dr. Young travels around the world donating his time, expertise, and care through this cause.

7. State-of-the Art Facility

Dr. Young uses the most advanced lasers and techniques available, including CO2 laser and Intense Pulse Light equipment that are considered the industry’s gold standard. He continually updates his office and procedural rooms to better treat his patients. Dr. Young’s office is AAAHC certified, meaning he and his staff have satisfied some of the most rigorous standards for an office with a surgical facility.

8. Dr. Young has Extensive Experience

As a leading Bellevue/Seattle facial rejuvenation expert, Dr. Young has performed more than 1,300 facelifts, including liposuction and neck and eye lifts, and performs between 400 and 800 facial plastic surgery procedures each year. He has over 12 years of experience in medicine and surgery.

9. Dr. Young Was Born and Raised in Washington

He has an affinity for treating and helping Washingtonians because he was born and raised in Federal Way, Washington. He graduated from the University of Washington. Dr. Young always wanted to return to Washington, which he thinks is the best place to live and work.
